It has the most consistent film results of any of the portable photo printers I have tried, so really; you cannot go wrong with any of them- it comes down to which qualities of each you like the best. Instax really makes some of the best portable printers. Instax prints will all have a white border or colored border surrounding the image (depending the film pack that you purchase), to give those instant photos character. You can also choose to pick a monochrome film (black and white) to print your digital images.

It easily fits in your purse or bag and holds a charge forever. Instax sells the frames of the prints in tons of colors and patterns- that can give your photographs a life of their own. I love the photo quality in these Instax prints.

Instax Wide Link Printer

If you want larger prints or like to shoot horizontally, the Fujifilm Instax Wide Link Printer is your go-to option. It uses Instax Wide film, which is twice as large as the Mini format and is oriented differently, making it great for group photos and landscapes. This model is available in Ash White, a neutral color that blends well with different setups. I love the large prints—they look great framed on a wall or pinned to the fridge.

Instax Square Link

Somewhere in between, the Fujifilm Instax Square Link offers a square format reminiscent of classic Polaroid photos. It appeals to Instagram lovers and those who enjoy a more balanced aspect ratio. Square photos are a different way to frame your images. Available in Ash White and Midnight Green, it offers a sleek and modern look. This one is my favorite of the three—the prints are smaller than a Polaroid but still large enough to see the images clearly. Instax also makes some fun prints for the outer frame. My favorite are the rainbow colored ones.

You can make collages with these prints (although the print size is small already, so the collage images are tiny) as well as AR (augmented reality) print modes in the smartphone app- where you can supplement your image with Instax’s graphics.
Wide Printer: This printer focuses on large, high-quality prints but lacks extensive editing features. It does have some collage features—the images are more prominent here, so you can easily see the collages—and some stickers and a QR feature, just not as many as the Mini or Square Link printers.
Square Link: Offers AR print modes and enhanced creative functions through the app. You can doodle on your photos and make them live and interactive, as well as leave messages for friends on your photographs with Instax Connect.
